On behalf of the Keloid Research Foundation, and in collaboration with Dr. Wei Liu and colleagues at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, we were delighted to welcome the international keloid research and treatment community to Shanghai, China, for the 5th International Keloid Symposium, held June 6–8, 2025.

This symposium united leading experts from around the world—basic scientists, dermatologists, plastic and general surgeons, radiation and medical oncologists, and rehabilitation physicians—to share the latest insights, research findings, and clinical advancements in the understanding and treatment of Keloid Disorder.

Over three days of intensive scientific sessions at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, participants examined the full spectrum of translational and clinical science, from keloid pathophysiology and molecular research to surgical technique, radiotherapy, and the patient experience of living with keloid disease.

We thank all speakers, faculty, and attendees who made the Shanghai symposium a success, and look forward to building on this progress at the 6th International Keloid Symposium in Amsterdam.
