On behalf of the Keloid Research Foundation, and in close collaboration with the Departments of Dermatology & Venereology, Plastic Surgery, and Dermatopathology at Hôpital Saint-Louis, Université Paris Cité, the Saint-Louis Research Institute (INSERM), and Shanghai Children's Medical Center, we are delighted to invite you to attend the 7th International Keloid Symposium, which will be held in Paris, France, from June 17–19, 2027.
This symposium aims to unite leading experts from around the world — basic scientists, dermatologists, plastic and general surgeons, radiation and medical oncologists, ENT and maxillofacial surgeons, laser specialists, rehabilitation physicians, and other healthcare professionals — to share their latest insights, research findings, and clinical advancements in the understanding and management of Keloid Disorder.
As with our previous symposia, this three-day event will offer intensive and interactive scientific sessions covering the full spectrum of basic, translational, and clinical science. Participants will benefit from cutting-edge presentations, open panel discussions, case-based learning, and collaborative workshops, all designed to foster scientific exchange and accelerate progress in this complex and often misunderstood disease.
The 2027 symposium carries particular historical significance as it will be hosted at Hôpital Saint-Louis, one of the world's most distinguished centers of dermatology. It was here that Jean-Louis-Marc Alibert (1768–1837), widely recognized as the father of French dermatology, first described keloids more than two centuries ago.
Gathering at this historic institution offers a unique opportunity to reflect on the origins of keloid science while charting a course toward its future.
Set in the heart of Paris, one of the world's most iconic and inspiring cities, the symposium will be complemented by carefully planned social events and exceptional culinary experiences. With its rich history, renowned museums, architectural landmarks, vibrant scientific community, and enduring contributions to medicine, Paris provides an ideal setting for a meeting that promises to be both scientifically rewarding and culturally enriching.
We look forward to welcoming you to this important gathering. The 7th International Keloid Symposium promises to be an outstanding opportunity to network with colleagues, exchange groundbreaking ideas, establish lasting collaborations, and help shape the future of keloid research and patient care worldwide.
