Alexandros Onoufriadis

Dr. Alexandros Onoufriadis is a research fellow at St John’s Institute of Dermatology (King’s College London). During his Ph.D. he identified the major gene for pustular psoriasis, IL36RN, paving the way for a new therapy for this disease. Upon completing his doctorate, he embarked on a successful gene hunting endeavor for various rare diseases including cutaneous phenotypes. He continued his post-doctoral research mainly working on transcriptomics of skin diseases including keloids. He has also received the 2021 Young Investigator Award by the British Society for Investigative Dermatology for his contribution to dermatological research.
