Dr. Fear has worked in skin research since 1999, receiving his PhD in 2003 from the University of London investigating non-melanoma skin cancers. Since 2007 he has worked with Professor Fiona Wood in burn injury, scarring and fibrotic disease.
In addition to 46 research publications, Dr. Mark Fear has been awarded over $5 million in research funding. His current research is focused on understanding the molecular pathogenesis of scarring and fibrotic disease, including keloid scars, and the development of novel therapies targeting fibrosis to improve patient treatment.
